I started sketching pagodas years ago after some of our travels in Asia. I have always been captivated by their unique silhouettes and symbolic meaning of harmony and spirituality. “TIPSY PAGODA” is my version of a whimsical Chinoiserie design and an ode to 🏯🏯🏯

Yesterday, we spent the day exploring Gyeongju, known as “the museum without walls”. It is home to more tombs, temples, rock carvings, pagodas, Buddhist statues and palace ruins than any other place in South Korea 🏯🏯🏯

The colors reminded me of “Spring Awakening” a painting I recently reworked (going up on my site this week) filled with pastel shades and chalk outlines using different mediums. 🌸🌿🥕

The vibrant energy of Gangnam with K-pop vibes, electric Myeongdong (where we stayed) with delicious street food and great night markets, artistic Hongdae with trendy fashion and beautiful and historic Bukchon. We also did a day trip to the DMZ where we saw North Korea in the distance ✨

Also…we have NEVER EVER seen so many coffee shops and cosmetic stores ☕️💄
